An early dose of momentum helped Mansfield to a 35-14 runaway past New Philadelphia for an Ohio high school football victory on Sept. 15. The first quarter gave Mansfield a 14-0 lead over New Philadelphia. The Tygers opened a slim 21-6 gap over the Quakers at the intermission. New Philadelphia clawed to within 28-14 through the third quarter. The Tygers held on with a 7-0 scoring edge in the final quarter. Last season, Mansfield and New Philadelphia faced off on Sept. 16, 2022 at New Philadelphia High School.
